I'll second sending the game to Notch :) even if he just mentions on his twitter, that's a couple of hundred thousand more people that know about SPAZ right there :p and its that word of mouthy kind of stuff that will really do wonders for a game like SPAZ

Exactly. Couldn't have (and didn't) put it better myself. lol :)

You must have got half your fanbase from the original TotalBiscuit videos. Might I sugest just sending out review copies to as many lets players as possible. Just get a few guys with 100,000+ subscibers playing the game and the money should start pouring in. Type minecraft into youtube and see how many hits it gets, then ask yourself why notch got so many sales.

Blorf is going spam crazy right now sending free copies to just about every gaming site and their dog. We landed a few interviews at some fairly major sites already. Lets hope the zombie infection takes hold ;)

Hi guys, there are a couple websites that I cannot translate well enough to figure out contact info to send the press package. Any German speakers out there willing to lend a hand?

www.4players.de
www.krawall.de

I think that we have blanketed Europe pretty well now.

If anyone is interested, Europe is beating North America sales percent wise:

Europe: 49.67%
North America: 42.08%
Oceania: 6.72%

There is a bit of a variety pack of teeny tiny pie wedges that make up the rest of the graphic.

Does Oceania include Asia as well, or is Asia in that tiny insignificant excess percentage?

Also, I don't know if anyone raised this but... is it possible that Steam rejected SPAZ because of the acronym? English is not my first language, so I don't know myself; but apparently "Spaz" is considered offensive by the British.

Would be a very stupid reason te reject it, but I suppose it's possible.

Asia is its own entity on the sales chart. We have about 3 sales in Asia. I think Africa has 4 or 5.

We even have one sale in Afghanistan.

Soldiers have no time for SPAZ, they are too busy fighting zombies silly.

Get your demo on kongregate, and for the love of god get some badges on it.

In case you are not familiar with Kongregate, its another flash game site, however it adds 'badges' little awards for accomplishing given tasks in a game usually around 3-4 per game of varying difficulties. Think of them as achievements. Naturally there is a large group of people who go out of their way to get as many as possible.

Check out the increased traffic Creeper World (very cool game) got, the developer there gives a nice chart, http://knucklecracker.com/blog/index.ph ... llo-world/ Notice how adding the badges drummed up as much traffic as the initial release? Badge hunters take their shit seriously :P

Well, I just did a search for the game on Gamespot. No results.

I know that Kotaku and RPS is where all the cool guys go, but this really, really needs to be rectified. Gamespot is like the New York Times of games. Boring, but complete.

A press release, something, anything.

Finnish PELIT magazine would probably be interested in this game. They've always been favourable towards indie gaming in general.
Without them, I probably would have never heard about games like Space Rangers 2 or Distant Worlds.

I added SPAZ to my Steam Client (<3 the ability to add non steam games) and have started Spamming Screenshots with it.
It's not much, but my Steam friends list is approaching the 150 mark, so I figure every little helps. :)

Hey Blorfy,

for 4players.de you should contact one of the guys on this page: http://www.4players.de/4players.php/com ... index.html these are all journalists of the magazin. there is a also a business to business contact person on this http://www.4players.de/4players.php/imp ... index.html (Anne Müller) but I don't know if she is the right person to contact in your case.

For Krawall: http://www.krawall.de/web/impressum/ right site, contact the people listed under "staff"

Horray for Europe - any chance to get a closer look on the sales figures regarding each country?

Might be worth throwing something at Multiplay, either on their forums or email them.
